O'Deas take on the Tsali Knobscorcher

The first of the Southeast Regional Championship/US Cup East races for Eddie and Namrita O'Dea was this weekend at the famous Tsali Knobscorcher race in North Carolina. The 4.25 mile time trial race was on Saturday with the 30-mile XC race on Sunday. Both courses were 99.9% singletrack but with little climbing. XC racing is more of a focus in 2012 compared to previous years for the O'Deas- Eddie will use them to improve speed in the National Ultra Endurance Series 100 mile races and Namrita is using them to improve speed while she aims to do more off-road multisport racing this season.
Eddie's early season form is looking great with the first NUE race in just 3 weeks. He took third place in the time trial and had his eye on a top 5 finish in the XC race but struggled with some flats during the race. He would end up 11th in the XC race. Namrita was pleased with how her races went with a 4th place in the TT and 3rd place in XC.
Next, Eddie O'Dea takes on the Cohutta 100 which is the opener for the 2012 National Ultra Endurance Series. Namrita is continuing to train for an upcoming off-road duathlon and her first XTERRA triathlon event also in the next month.
